CDCR – Salt Creek Adult Conservation (Fire) Camp #7 basic information to help guide you through what you can do for your inmate while they are incarcerated. The facility's direct contact number: 530-833-5497

This facility is for adult inmates.

The inmates housed at CDCR – Salt Creek Adult Conservation (Fire) Camp #7 located at 10655 Round Valley Road in Paskenta, CA are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.

Camp History

Salt Creek Conservation Camp CC #7 was opened on May 1, 1987. The camp is jointly operated by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR and the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE). The primary mission of the camp is to provide inmate fire crews for fire suppression in the Tehama Glenn Unit, although crews can be dispatched throughout the state. In addition to fire suppression, inmate hand crews provide a work force for conservation and community work projects in the local area. The
in-camp CAL FIRE project is a full reproduction print shop, which produces print material for government agencies.

CDCR is responsible for the security, supervision, care, and discipline of the inmates. CAL FIRE maintains the camp, supervises work of the inmate fire crews and is responsible for the custody of inmates on their daily CAL FIRE work projects. CDCR staff may accompany inmate crews while assigned to emergencies to assist in the care and security of the inmates.
