CO DOC – Denver Women’s Correctional Facility basic information to help guide you through what you can do for your inmate while they are incarcerated. The facility's direct contact number: 303-371-4804
This facility is for adult inmates.
The inmates housed at Denver Women’s Correctional located at 3600 Havana St in Denver, CO are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.
Denver Women's Correctional Facility is a state prison and a part of the Denver Complex of the county sheriff detention facilities housing about 975 adult female inmates. Inmates who are incarcerated here with short time left on their sentences may participate in the reentry and integration program, which helps them transition back to society. Like most of its male counterpart facilities, Denver Women's Correctional offers basic education courses, substance abuse treatment, and parenting courses. Some vocational skills that are taught at this facility include culinary arts, woodworking, basic and advanced computer skills, and more. Inmates should participate in these activities because it provides them with more knowledge and advanced skills that may enable them to get employment once released.
