This facility is for adult inmates.

The Douglas County GA Adult Detention Center is a medium-security detention center located at 8470 Earl D Lee Blvd Douglasville, GA which is operated locally by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Douglas County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Douglasville Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.

It is the purpose of this division to house inmates in accordance with state law while maintaining a safe environment for both inmates and staff. We currently house an average daily population of 740+ inmates. This inmate population is comprised of pretrial inmates as well as both county and state sentenced inmates. There are currently 84 deputies and certified corrections officers working in the jail division.

Of these 740+ inmates, they have 110 inmates assigned to the Inmate Work Program, 20 females and 90 males on various work crews that work throughout this county. The County also uses this inmate labor inside our kitchen and laundry as well as utilizing them for

Visitation Rules

Dress Code

In an effort to maintain a family-friendly atmosphere, we ask that you familiarize yourself with and follow the dress code when coming to visitation. Anyone violating the dress code will be asked to correct the problem or leave. Repeated violations will result in loss of visitation privileges. Your cooperation is appreciated and will ensure that your visit is not delayed.

  • No low cut shirts
  • No short-shorts (shorts should extend past the fingertips when arms are extended by your side)
  • No spandex or form-fitting clothing
  • Pants should be worn at the waist
  • No clothing with obscene or vulgar images or writing

In order to visit inmates at the Douglas County Jail, you MUST REGISTER ONLINE 24 hours in advance of when you would like to visit. Visitations are scheduled for no later than 7:40 pm.

We no longer permit visits without online registration.

Log on to the visitation site to register. If you have not completed online registration you will not be permitted a visit.

Video Visitation – A New Way to Visit

The Douglas County Jail is pleased to announce that there is a new way for friends and family to visit a loved one at our facility. Starting now, visitors can use their computer to visit from the comfort of their own home or office. There is a minimal cost for the visit; $7.50 for a 30 minute visit or $25 for a one hour attorney visit. Visitors will still be required to register prior to the visit and run a simple test to ensure that their computer hardware is compatible. Anyone interested in accessing this new feature should log into IP Web Visitor.
