The inmates housed at Colquitt County Correctional located at 200 S Vandenberg Dr in Moultrie, GA are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.

Colquitt County Correctional Institution is a medium level correctional facility that incarcerates 190 adult male inmates that are held in four dormitories, with 55 beds in each. Inmates who have disciplinary and behavioral issues, or who have safety concerns are held in one of twelve solitary cells. Vocational skills that inmates can acquire while incarcerated include heavy equipment operation, auto repair and maintenance, electric, air conditioning, laundry and food services. The chaplain's office offers religious studies and worship services to inmates and even offers a choir group. Inmates can also receive counseling and earn a GED.
