The Montgomery County IN Jail is a medium-security detention center located at 600 Memorial Dr Crawfordsville, IN which is operated locally by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Montgomery County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Crawfordsville Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.
The Montgomery County Jail was opened in June 2006 with a capacity of 224 beds: 130 male beds, 40 female beds, 12 temporary beds, 2 padded detox. beds and 40 beds for Work Release.

It is the current policy of the Jail that no person under the age of 18 is allowed to visit or be in the visitation area of the jail.
Children may stay in the general lobby area but must be supervised at all times by an adult. ** Minors cannot be considered being supervised if the adult supervising is visiting an inmate on the video system.**
To visit an inmate you must be on his/her current visitation list and be prepared to show proper identification. State ID cards and driver license are acceptable forms of identification.
