The inmates housed at Branchville Correctional located at 21390 Old SR 37 in Branchville, IN are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.

Branchville Correctional Facility is located in Perry County Indiana. It is a medium security prison that houses approximately 1,460 adult male inmates. Offenders at this facility can take educational courses that give the inmate an adult basic education and can even earn a GED. Anger management, substance abuse treatment, and parenting classes are some of the programs offered here.

Branchville Correctional Facility teaches vocational skills in culinary arts and has various apprentice programs through the department of labor.
