The Bell County KY Detention Center is a medium-security detention center located at 210 Virginia Ave
PO Box 478 Pineville, KY which is operated locally by the Bell County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Bell County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Pineville Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.
Programs
We offer the following programs at the Detention Center.
- AA Classes – Tuesday Nights
- GED Classes – Monday and Tuesdays
- NA Classes – Tuesday Nights
- Sign Language Classes – Friday Nights
Commissary – Commissary is done Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting at 6:00 AM.
Money |
Money may be mailed in the form of a U.S. Postal Money Order or money may be brought in person to the Detention Center and left in that persons name. Be sure to get a receipt from the deputy receiving the money. |
Bonds |
Bonds are set through Circuit-District-Family Court Judges or Trial Commissioner. Bond amounts can be seen in the information section by clicking the inmates name you have in question. |

All visitations are from 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Each visit is 15 minutes in length.
