This facility is for adult inmates.

The Allen County KY Detention Center is a medium-security detention center located at 196 Wood St Scottsville, KY which is operated locally by the Allen County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Allen County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Scottsville Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.

WHEN REPORTING TO SERVE WEEKENDS YOU MUST BRING THE MONEY TO PAY YOUR JAIL FEES WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE JAIL.
WE MUST HAVE THE PROPER COMMITMENT ORDER TO ACCEPT YOU.
AN UNCLOTHED SEARCH WILL BE PERFORMED ON ALL PERSONS REPORTING IN TO SERVE ANY AMOUNT OF TIME.
YOU MAY BRING SOCK, UNDERWEAR, & T-SHIRTS WITH YOU BUT ALL MUST BE ALL WHITE IN COLOR, NEW AND IN AN UNOPENED PACKAGE. IF YOU ARE SERVING MORE THAN ONE WEEKEND YOU WILL BE ABLE TO LEAVE YOUR WHITES AT THE JAIL FOR THE NEXT TIME YOU REPORT.
YOU NEED TO BE AT THE JAIL AT THE TIME YOUR ORDER DEFINES.
FAILURE TO ABIDE BY THESE RULES WILL RESULT IN THE JAIL REFUSING TO ACCEPT YOU TO SERVE YOUR TIME AND YOU CAN BE HELD IN CONTEMPT OF COURT.

ALL INMATES WILL HAVE ONE (1) THIRTY (30) MINUTE VISIT. ANYONE WISHING TO VISIT AN INMATE MUST BE HERE TO SCHEDULE A VISIT AND ALL FAMILY AND FRIENDS THAT WISH TO VISIT MUST BE HERE AT THE SAME TIME.

IF AN INMATE IS CALLED OUT AND THE VISITOR IS NOT IN THE LOBBY AT THE TIME THE INMATE GOES INTO THE VISITATION ROOM THE INMATE WILL HAVE TO GO BACK TO THEIR CELL AND THEIR VISIT WILL BE CANCELED AND THE NEXT INMATE ON THE LIST WILL BE CALLED OUT.

  • NO FOOD OR DRINK ALLOWED IN VISITATION
  • NO SMOKING
  • OUT OF RESPECT FOR OTHERS, PLEASE CONTROL YOUR CHILDREN WHILE VISITING
  • ALL PICTURES AND LETTERS MUST BE MAILED IN TO THE JAIL
  • ANY CLOTHING THAT IS ALLOWED MAY BE DROPPED OFF AT ANY TIME
  • MONEY MAY BE LEFT AT ANY TIME
  • PHONE CARDS MAY BE PURCHASED IN THE LOBBY OF THE JAIL

ACCORDING TO CORRECTIONS POLICIES AND PROCEDURES (16.1 INMATE VISITS), "VISITATION BE AN EX-OFFENDER AND PAROLEE OR PROBATIONER SHALL NOT BE PERMITTED WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL BY THE WARDEN OR HIS DESIGNEE, THE PAROLE OR PROBATION OFFICER, IF APPLICABLE, AND MAY NOT OCCUR UNTIL ONE (1) YEAR FOLLOWING:

  1. THE DATE OF RELEASE FROM AN INSTITUTION FOR EITHER PAROLE OR CONDITIONAL RELEASE; OR
  2. "PLACEMENT ON PROBATION STATUS". THIS ALSO APPLIES TO VISITING THE LOCAL JAIL. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR PROBLEMS, CONTRACT YOUR OFFICER.

ATTENTION ALL VISITORS – 520.050 Promoting contraband in the first degree

  1. A person is guilty of promoting contraband in the first degree when:
    1. He knowingly introduces dangerous contraband into a detention facility or a penitentiary; or
    2. Being a person confined in a detention facility or a penitentiary, he knowingly makes, obtains, or possesses dangerous contraband.
  2. Promoting contraband in the first degree is a Class D felony.
