This facility is for adult inmates.
The inmates housed at ADC-Benton Unit located at 6701 Arkansas Hwy 67 in Benton, AR are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.
Benton Unit is an Arkansas Department of Corrections state work release facility housing only minimum custody level inmates in Saline County. Inmates incarcerated in here can earn time off of their sentence for good behavior and working. Many of the offenders at this facility are people who had a technical violation on their parole or are pre-release, meaning they are getting ready to be released from prison. This facility provides vocational training in maintaining various grounds in the area and the offenders can take advantage of educational programs and substance abuse treatment program.
