This facility is for adult inmates.

The inmates housed at ADC-Maximum Unit located at 2501 State Farm Rd in Tucker, AR are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.

The Maximum Security Unit is a state prison managed by the Arkansas Department of Corrections located in Tucker, AR of Jefferson County. This facility has the capacity to house over 530 maximum-security inmates. Offenders can participate in a substance abuse treatment program, education programs that include GED classes, the PAL program, and a pre-release program that focuses on the reintegration of offenders back into society. Inmates can also work in the fields if they partake in field crops. The maximum security unit also allows inmates to work with animals in the PAWS program.

Inmate Commissary Lists – It is the policy of the Arkansas Department of Correction (ADC) to provide Inmate Commissaries from which inmates may purchase products. Items included in the various Inmate Commissaries are determined by the centralized Commissary Committee.

INDIGENT COMMISSARY LIST – An inmate shall be eligible for the program if their inmate trust account balance is less than $10.00 and the inmate has received less than $10.00 on their account during the immediately preceding thirty (30) days, issue of indigent items shall be reduced by the value of the account balance. Inmate Telephone – Inmates are provided with coinless telephones during set hours of use. Inmates can only make collect calls to pre-approved numbers. Inmates cannot have cellular phones or calling cards. Inmates can lose their telephone privileges for disciplinary reasons. Each unit has its own telephone policy, so please check with the particular unit for specific hours of use. Boot Camp inmates may write and receive letters only. They have access to telephones only in emergency situations or to notify family or friends prior to graduation from the Boot Camp.

Tobacco Policy – Inmates are not allowed to have any kind of tobacco. This policy became effective on January 17, 2000, and prohibits inmates from possessing “any smoking or smokeless tobacco product.” If an inmate does have tobacco, it is considered contraband and the inmate will be disciplined. Visitors and employees must leave all tobacco products in their vehicle. Bringing tobacco products into a facility will result in loss of visitation privileges.

Synthetic Drugs – Synthetic drugs are known by numerous names (Spice, bath salts, K2, and Molly to name a few), and are legally sold in the community as incense or other products "not meant for human consumption" but have an alternate use to produce a high similar to that felt when using marijuana, amphetamines or LSD. The problem is that each batch of these drugs contains different chemicals meaning each batch can produce different effects some of which can be life-threatening. No cellphones, you will be searched before visiting. NO personal belongings. Persons under probation, parole, or other community corrections supervision must obtain the permission of both their individual supervising officer and the superintendent prior to a visit. Such visitation is not normally approved. 

If the visitor is under the age of 18 and is a family member of the inmate, they must be accompanied by an adult family member or guardian to include a member of the inmate's extended family. If the visitor is under the age of 18 and is not a family member of the inmate, the minor visitor must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
