The inmates housed at ASP Central Arizona Correctional Facility (CACF) – GEO located at 1401 E Diversion Dam Rd in Florence, AZ are placed according to their custody level and are incarcerated by a private company contracted by a government agency and are paid a per diem or monthly rate, either for each inmate in the facility or for each bed available. The facility is well-trained and well-staffed. This doesn't come without some controversy as the "price of incarceration" is big business and critics claim there is a monetary benefit to keeping people locked up. The flip side is this facility undergoes rigorous inspections and are some of the be maintained in the US.

For inmates that show a willingness to learn new things, there are educational and vocational training programs here that will prepare them for a successful reentry when released.

The CACF is a state medium-custody private prison that is under contract with the GEO Group for the Arizona Department of Corrections to provide custody and treatment to 1,280 adult male inmates who have demonstrated a need for sex inmate treatment. CACF should not be confused with the nearby Central Arizona Detention Center, run by CoreCivic, which houses prisoners for the United States Marshals Service, TransCor America LLC, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Pascua Yaqui Tribe government, and the United States Air Force, but does not house Arizona state prisoners.

SCOPE OF WORK: Central Arizona Correctional Facility offers employability skills, parenting, substance abuse education and counseling, nutrition/diet education, education, GED classes, ABE classes, case management, individual/ group counseling, stress management, facility work programs, and job placement.

The Central Arizona Correctional Facility was designed by CSC and built by GEO in 2006.
