This facility is for adult inmates.
The Boone County KY Jail (ICE) is a medium-security detention center located at 3020 Conrad Ln Burlington, KY which is operated locally by the Boone County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Boone County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Burlington Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.
The Boone County Jail has the capacity to house 424 maximum, medium and minimum security inmates at the main jail and 76 minimum security inmates at our workcamp facility. The jail services all law enforcement agencies in Boone County including the Florence Police Department, the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, the Greater Cincinnati Airport Police Department, and the Kentucky State Police. Last year over 8,000 prisoners were processed through the County jail system. The Boone County Jail system consists of two facilities. The minimum security Work Camp located at 5359 Bullitsville Road 4/10 of a mile from the main jail which is located at 3020 Conrad Lane.

Detainees cannot receive incoming calls. If you need to get in touch with a detainee to leave an urgent message, you must call (859) 334-2143 and leave the detainee’s full name, alien registration number and your name and telephone number where you can be reached. The detainee will be given your message.

- Detainees are allotted 30 minutes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 15 minutes on Saturdays.
- To ensure adequate time to process visitors through security, all visitors must arrive 45 minutes prior to the scheduled visit time.
- Adult visitors must present a valid, verifiable government-issued identification card to enter the facility.
- Minors who are visiting the facility must be accompanied by an adult guardian (18 years or older). Minors must not be left unaccompanied in the waiting room, visiting room or any other area.
Attorney Visits – Legal representatives of detainees are authorized to visit their clients during the following hours:
- Attorneys and/or paralegals may visit their clients at anytime.
- A list of pro bono (free) legal organizations will be posted in all detainee housing units and other appropriate areas. This list shall be updated quarterly. If a detainee wishes to see a representative or paralegal from that organization, it is the detainee’s responsibility to contact them for an appointment.
Consular Visits – Consular officials may meet with their detained nationals at any time. It is requested that prior arrangements be made with the ICE Supervisory Deportation Officer to the extent possible, and that consular officials bring appropriate credentials when they come to the facility. Clergy Visits – Clergy may visit detainees at any time but must make prior arrangements with the Chaplain’s Office.
Visiting Restrictions
- All family or other social visits are Non-contact.
- No firearms or weapons of any kind are permitted in the facility.
- If visitors are or appear to be intoxicated, visitation will not be allowed.
- All visitors are subject to search while in the facility.
- Visitors are not allowed to pass or attempt to pass any items to detainees.
- Visitors are not allowed to carry any items into the visitation area.
Search Procedures (prior to or during all visitations) – All individuals requesting admittance to the facility or the visitation area are subject to a pat-down search of their person, an inspection of their belongings, and a metal scan search. Individuals refusing to cooperate with a reasonable search will not be admitted. No firearms or weapons of any kind are permitted. No electronic devices (cell phones, pagers, radios, etc.) are permitted in the secure areas of this facility.
Workcamp Visitation – Visitation at our workcamp facility is on Tuesday for A Barracks Visitation Hours are 5:30 P.M. until 6:10 P.M, B Barracks Visitation Hours are 6:20 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and C Barracks Visitation Hours are 7:10 PM until 7:50 PM. Saturday for A Barracks Visitation Hours are 1:00 P.M. until 1:40 P.M., B Barracks Visitation Hours are 1:50 P.M. until 2:30 P.M. and C Barracks Visitation Hours are 2:40 PM until 3:20 PM. Any person attempting to introduce contraband into the facility will be charged by KRS.
