The Boulder County Jail is a medium-security detention center located at 3200 Airport Rd Boulder, CO which is operated locally by the Boulder County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Boulder County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Boulder Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.

The Boulder Boulder County Jail offers many programs to the inmates. These include:
Counseling Programs – Counseling Programs provide the following classes:
- Alcoholics Anonymous
- Narcotics Anonymous
- Footsteps Program For Men and Women for Co-Occurring Disorders Both Group and Individual Counseling is available to participants covering such topics as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Education Programs – Various Education Programs are available to inmates, from parenting to life skills to addiction recovery.
Health Programs – Health Programs are provided to new intakes on a weekly basis. Programs include:
- AIDS Education (both English and in Spanish)
Library services – Library services are provided once or twice weekly include:
- Recreational reading
- Law Library
Living assistance – Living assistance is a voluntary program designed to help an inmate’s successful transition back into the community. Programs include:

Religious Programs – Religious Programs are provided for inmates which include:

Safehouse – Safehouse is a program of counseling and referral. Subjects include:
- Progressive Alliance for Non-Violence
- Individual Counseling and Consultation available to Women with Domestic Violence Charges.
- Educational Class Offered once a week for Women here on Domestic Violence of Assault Charges (mandatory participation).
Substance Abuse programs – Substance Abuse programs sets goals, objectives, and components of treatment:

Boulder County Jail – Visitation
Visits must be arranged 24 hours in advance. A limited number of visitation slots are available. To set up an inmate visitation call 303-441-4600. If you have been incarcerated in any jail within the last six months (or 180 days), you will not be allowed to visit.
Pre-registration for Visitors – Video Visitation is now available for registration and scheduling of video visits. Video Visitation is an easy way to visit with your inmate from home over the internet by using your home computer. Video visits are available to you during normal business hours, but also available in the evenings, on Holidays, and over the weekend. The cost is $12 per 30 minute visit (Depending on their status, some inmates may get 45-minute visits; the cost is still $12).

The Boulder County Jail continues to offer face-to-face Security Visits at the jail. Prior to scheduling Security visits at the jail, visitor(s) must pre-register with Reception at the jail during normal business hours, which are Monday through Thursday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Fridays between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Excluding County Holidays.
Visitation appointments must be made one day in advance of the scheduled appointment. Call Friday to schedule a Monday visit.
YOU MUST ARRIVE AT LEAST 15 MINUTES EARLY TO CHECK IN WITH RECEPTION, OR YOU MAY LOSE YOUR VISIT.
You must bring a valid photo I.D., with the date of birth, and you will be required to clear the metal detector. Inmates are eligible for 1 visit per week, Monday through Friday. A parent or legal guardian must accompany children under 18 years of age.
Inmates can have up to 2 visitors at one time for Security Visits.
