CDCR – California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility (SATF-CSP, Corcoran) basic information to help guide you through what you can do for your inmate while they are incarcerated. The facility's direct contact number: 559-992-7100
This facility is for adult inmates.
The inmates housed at SATF-CSP, Corcoran located at 900 Quebec Ave in Corcoran, CA are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.
The California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility has a primary focus on treating inmates who have substance abuse issues. The facility is comprised of multiple levels of offenders from level II to level IV. Education plays a major role at this facility, with programs designed to give inmates a basic adult education and GED. Substance abuse treatment includes therapeutic group sessions and NA/AA programs.
Every inmate in the general population is allowed to participate in a variety of work and training programs that are provided to teach the inmate a useful skill. Carpentry, HVAC, auto body/mechanic, electronics repair, masonry, gardening, upholstery, and welding are just a few of the vocational skills that an inmate can learn. Inmates are strongly encouraged to participate in these programs as what they learn can provide the inmates with a new skill set that can make it easier to find a job once they are released.
Mission Statement – The primary mission of the California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison at Corcoran (CSATF/SP) is to protect the public by ensuring those inmates who are remanded to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) remain in custody until they are scheduled to be released. CSATF/SP will accomplish this by employing the highest standards of “Correctional Professionalism” in the performance of our duties.
Protect inmates by ensuring the CSATF/SP properly classify and house them within Departmental guidelines, by holding the inmate population and staff responsible for adhering to Departmental Policies and Procedures, and fairly enforcing all law and regulations.
Provide the inmate population access to the Department’s Disability Placement Program (DPP), Developmental Disabled Program (DDP), medical, dental, and mental health services that meet the applicable standards.
