CDCR – Eel River Conservation (Fire) Camp #31 basic information to help guide you through what you can do for your inmate while they are incarcerated. The facility's direct contact number: 707-923-2755
This facility is for adult inmates.
The inmates housed at Eel River Conservation Camp #31 located at 3850 Redwood Dr in Redway, CA are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.
Camp History – The EEL River Conservation Camp #31 was activated February 2, 1967. The Camp is jointly operated by the California Dept. Of Forestry (Cal-Fire) and California Dept Of Corrections and Rehabilitation. During the calendar year, CC #31 provides the local community, state and federal agencies with support and conservation service work.
It is estimated through the emergency responses to fires, floods, and project work CC #31 provided cost avoidance in excess of $ 1, 000,000.00 per year to the taxpayers of California. Noteworthy projects include extensive work at various public schools, State Parks, State/County roadways and US land improvement to include a successful camp recycling program.
Inmate Programs – Eel River Currently has three religious services that occur on a weekly basis they include. Jehovah’s Witnesses Bible Study. New Wine Fellowship Bible Study and Mennonite Services. AA/NA, and Pre-Release self-paced video series.
