This facility is for adult inmates.
The inmates housed at Taft Modified CF located at 330 Commerce Way in Taft, CA are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.
Taft Modified Community Correctional Facility (MCCF)
In the late 1980s, the State of California CDC needed more bed space and cities and counties were given contracts to house low-level state inmates. The Taft Community Correctional Facility (CCF) began as an AB1591 – Return To Custody Facility or RTC. Our facility was built in 1990 and opened in January 1991. The Facility closed in November of 2011 due to AB 109 (Prison Realignment) and was re-opened in February 2014 as a Modified Community Correctional Facility under contract with CDCR to house 600 inmates. The mission of the Taft MCCF is to provide a safe environment for staff and inmates through professional service delivery in cooperation with our CDCR teammates. They provide contractual services for the CDCR to generate revenues to enhance the quality of life of the citizens of the City of Taft, through professionalism and in accordance with the philosophies of the MCCF. Facility Staff – Facility Staff is comprised of a Facility Manager, Security Captain, and an Administrative Lieutenant. |
