Center for Community Transitions – Women basic information to help guide you through what you can do for your inmate while they are incarcerated. The facility's direct contact number: 704-374-0762

This facility is for adult inmates.

The Center for Community Transitions – Women is a private prison located at 2226 N Davidson St in Charlotte, NC in Mecklenburg County. This State – work release security prison is operated by a private company in contract with the North Carolina Department of Corrections, the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the US Marshal Service and/or Immigration Enforcement to hold inmates who are awaiting trial or have already been convicted and sentenced for a crime in any of these jurisdictions.

The inmates housed at this North Carolina facility are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the length of their sentence and the past criminal history). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. Center for Community Transitions – Women's mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate. This compound operates onsite to meet most of the inmate's needs, including dietary, health, fitness, education, religious practices, entertainment, and many others. Most private prisons are kept in top condition as they are constantly subjected to rigorous inspections and would like to keep a clean record to maintain government contracts.
