The Chisago County Jail is a medium-security detention center located at 15230 Per Rd Center City, MN which is operated locally by the Chisago County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Chisago County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Center City Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.
The Jail is a remote podular design facility that houses persons charged or convicted of crimes of all levels within the County and is committed to maintaining a professional and well trained correctional staff, who uphold the standards established by the United States Constitution, Minnesota State Statutes, and the Minnesota Department of Corrections (MN DOC). The responsibilities of inmate care and officer safety are tremendous. Correctional officers are responsible for facility security by overseeing individuals who have been arrested and are awaiting trial or who have been convicted of a criminal offense and sentenced to serve time in jail. Correctional officers are a critical component in the safe and efficient operation of the jail and must maintain security and inmate accountability to prevent disturbances, assaults, and escapes. The health, safety, and well being of inmates is maintained through providing nutritional meals, adequate medical care, and an opportunity to partake in various programs.
Banking Service – The Chisago County Jail maintains an account for every inmate, which may be used to purchase items from the commissary, co-pays for medical services, and other incurred expenses.

The judge must grant Huber and then the jail will verify the employment and determine whether all requirements are met. The fact that Huber has been granted does not guarantee that you will be allowed out to work as they must meet program requirements.

Sentence to Service – Sentence to Service (STS) is a jail alternative program, in partnership with the State of Minnesota, for low-risk offenders, designed to repay the community for harm incurred by an offender. STS avoids costly incarceration and provides work projects that are of benefit to the citizens of Chisago County by improving the condition of its resources and improves competency levels for inmates through the completion of meaningful work experiences. By participating in STS, inmates are able to indirectly make amends for their actions by contributing to work projects that add significant value to organizations and communities throughout the county. Under the direction of STS crew leaders, work projects are completed for the public, non-profit, and government agencies. Examples of work projects include trail and prairie restoration for state and county agencies, recycling for county buildings, natural disaster relief, painting, and/or general clean-up.
