CO DOC – Four Mile Correctional Center (FMCC) basic information to help guide you through what you can do for your inmate while they are incarcerated. The facility's direct contact number: 719-269-5601

This facility is for adult inmates.

The inmates housed at Four Mile Correctional located at E US Hwy 50 – Evans Rd in Canon City, CO are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.

Four Mile Correctional Center is located in Canon City and is part of the East Canon Complex (aligned with the Arrowhead Correctional Center, Centennial Correctional Facility, Colorado State Penitentiary and the Skyline Correctional Center) and is considered a level II custody minimum-medium security state prison that can hold about 525 adult male inmates. Offenders at this facility can work within the Colorado Correctional Industries on a dairy farm, in pizza production or within other culinary arts jobs, as well as a Wild Horse program that allows inmates to work with the animals. Basic adult education and GED classes are offered, inmates can also take college-level courses from Adams State College. Substance abuse, anger management, and mental health treatment can all be received at this correctional facility. Inmates who will be released soon may participate in the pre-release program which prepares inmates for the coming transition back into society.
