BACKGROUND
The Cordova Residential Center works with the Alaska Department of Corrections and the Federal Bureau of Prisons to provide transitional services for participants returning to the community. The programming supports federal and state correctional agencies by providing a safe and secure residential setting.
SCOPE OF WORK:
The Cordova Residential Center provides services to offenders who are returning to the community. GEO Residential Reentry Centers provide temporary housing and transitional services for adult male and female offenders nationwide. The centers provide services seven days a week offering evidence-based programs that directly address the offenders’ criminogenic risks and needs. Our residential programs can also integrate with electronic monitoring and home detention.
SERVICE:
Programs and services currently offered at the Cordova RRC include, evidence-based programming, life / living skills, anger / stress management, budgeting and banking, securing housing, family / parenting skills, community service work, employment assistance, educational opportunities, multi-level programming, Moral Reconation Therapy, LSI-R Assessments, substance Abuse Treatment.
FACILITY DESCRIPTION:
GEO Reentry recently made major improvements to the residential center, including implementing a new unit management model, adding programming, increasing security, and enhancing aesthetics. The facility added gates and fences, modified the exit system, and added more security cameras. Security measures include 24-hour custodial supervision, closed circuit surveillance cameras and frequent census checks.

No cellphones, you will be searched before visiting. NO personal belongings. Persons under probation, parole, or other community corrections supervision must obtain the permission of both their individual supervising officer and the superintendent prior to a visit. Such visitation is not normally approved.
If the visitor is under the age of 18 and is a family member of the inmate, they must be accompanied by an adult family member or guardian to include a member of the inmate's extended family. If the visitor is under the age of 18 and is not a family member of the inmate, the minor visitor must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
