CT DOC – Enfield Correctional Institution – Visitation
CT DOC – Enfield Correctional Institution – Inmate Programs
The Enfield Correctional Institution serves as a level 3 medium-security facility for sentenced offenders and focuses on programming initiatives geared toward substance abuse, education and vocational instruction.
In recognition of the importance of family reunification, the facility implemented a parenting program which emphasized such skills as child development, parenting styles, fathering initiatives, school readiness and positive discipline.
Connecticut, like many states, is developing a more effective partnership between government, schools, and the community to reach both parent and child with effective crime, alcohol and drug prevention education.
The PRISONER OUTREACH PROGRAM meets with at-risk youths to provide them with a unique opportunity to obtain a realistic view of prison life and the reality of serving time. The youths learn how drug and alcohol abuse and criminal behavior ruined the lives of men incarcerated in Connecticut. They also learn how to change their lives in a positive way to avoid being sentenced to prison.
