Dickinson County MI Jail basic information to help guide you through what you can do for your inmate while they are incarcerated. The facility's direct contact number: 906-774-6270
This facility is for adult inmates.
The Dickinson County MI Jail is a medium-security detention center located at 300 E “D” St Iron Mountain, MI which is operated locally by the Dickinson County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Dickinson County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Iron Mountain Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.
The jail has a total bed capacity of 71 beds/inmates, housing both male and female inmates. Under the Corrections Division, the Office also has a Sheriff's Work Van program. The program provides free community service to local non-profit and governmental agencies. People are assigned to this program via the District Court in lieu of jail time. It is offered to Misdemeanor crimes only and only to non-security risk violators. This program provides valuable community service and frees up valuable jail bed space for more serious offenders.
Other programs at the Correctional Center are Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Gideons, Community Schools, a chaplaincy program, and mental health counseling.
