The FCI-Allenwood-Low is a federal prison located at PO Box 1500 in White Deer, PA. This federal low security prison is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) to hold inmates who have been convicted to and sentenced for a federal crime through the US Department of Justice (DOJ).

The Federal Correctional Institution (FCI), Allenwood Low is a low-security United States federal prison for male inmates in Pennsylvania. It is part of the Allenwood Federal Correctional Complex (FCC Allenwood) and is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, a division of the United States Department of Justice.
The complex consists of two facilities:
- Federal Correctional Institution, Allenwood Low (FCI Allenwood Low): a low-security facility.
- Federal Correctional Institution, Allenwood Medium (FCI Allenwood Medium): a medium-security facility.
FCC Allenwood is located 75 miles north of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the state capital just west of US Route 15.
Housing: Inmates are housed in dormitories in two and three-person cubicles.
Health Services: Routine medical and dental care is offered within the Health Services Department. Physical examinations, annual immunization/screening, emergency medical treatment, and medications are also provided. In order to seek routine care, inmates must submit a triage form. Emergency medical care can be obtained by approaching any staff member.
Psychology Services: All inmates at FCI Allenwood Low are seen for an intake interview with a psychologist. A psychologist is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for crisis intervention and suicide prevention. Individual counseling services are available for any inmate experiencing family, interpersonal, adjustment, or other personal concerns. Educational and therapeutic groups are also offered to address particular topics like stress management, anger management, and dealing with other people. Medications for mental health problems are provided through Health Services. A treatment program for sex offenders is voluntary and is located at other facilities.
Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP): FCI Allenwood Low houses a Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP). It also offers a Drug Abuse Education program, the Non-Residential Drug Abuse Program (NR-DAP), and self-help groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA).
Education Services: FCI Allenwood Low provides GED and English-as-a-Second Language (ESL) programs. Certificates and $25 credited to the student’s commissary account are awarded for successful completion. A parenting program and Adult Continuing Education (ACE) classes are also available to the inmate population. High school diplomas and post-secondary programs are available through paid correspondence programs.
Advanced Occupational Education: FCI Allenwood Low offers advanced occupational education in Culinary Arts, Office Automation, and Fiber Optics.
Vocational Training: FCI Allenwood Low offers vocational training in Computer Internet Computing Core Certification (IC3).
Apprenticeship: FCI Allenwood Low offers apprenticeship programs in Cooking and Housekeeping.
Library Services: The law/leisure library is located in the Education Department. All required legal books and policies are provided. Inmates also have access to the TRULINCS Electronic Law Library. Typewriters are provided, however, inmates must purchase typewriter ribbons and correction tape from the commissary. Manual typewriters are provided for inmates who do not purchase ribbons from the commissary. A copy machine is located in the law library for inmate use. In the leisure library, inmates can check out newspapers, magazines, and fiction and nonfiction books.
UNICOR: The FCI Allenwood Low UNICOR facility produces office furniture.
Commissary: FCI Allenwood Low inmates are permitted to spend up to $360.00 each month for regular purchases, and an additional amount for special purchase items. Items include snacks, food, clothing, shoes, and electronics. Over-the-counter medications can also be purchased. Inmates are responsible for knowing the amount of money available in his account. Inmates tend to use their laundry bag to carry their purchases back to their cell.
Recreation Services: FCI Allenwood Low’s Recreation Department consists of both indoor and outdoor areas. Programs include hobby crafts (e.g., ceramics, painting, drawing, and crochet), instructional music classes, a wellness program (e.g., step aerobics, a jogging program, exercise fitness bikes, swiss ball, cardio, total body fitness, jump rope, yoga), leisure activities such as fitness equipment, weight lifting, walking, jogging, handball, basketball, bocce ball, billiards, foosball, bingo, puzzles, chess, and board games. Athletic leagues are available in billiards, ping pong, floor hockey, softball, bocce ball, horseshoes, handball/racquetball, basketball, flag football, volleyball, and soccer.

The Commissary provides a bank type account for your money & for the procurement of articles not issued regularly as part of the institution administration.
