Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) – Marianna's comprehensive information to help guide you through the federal prison process, specifically on how to remain connected to your inmate while they are incarcerated.
The FCI-Marianna is a federal prison located at 3625 FCI Rd in Marianna, FL. This federal medium security prison is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) to hold inmates who have been convicted to and sentenced for a federal crime through the US Department of Justice (DOJ).

FCI Marianna and its satellite camp were opened in 1988. It is a Sex Offender Management Program (SOMP) facility. In 2012, several dozen correctional officers filed lawsuits against FCI Marianna’s UNICOR facility seeking compensation for illnesses and resulting quality-of-life losses they say they suffered from exposure to toxic dust generated in the process of recycling computers, which have components containing lead, cadmium, beryllium, mercury, and possibly other toxic substances.

Location: FCI Marianna is located in the Florida panhandle, 65 miles west of Tallahassee and 5 miles north of the town of Marianna, off Highway 167.
Housing: Inmates are housed in two-person cells.
Health Services: FCI Marianna provides medical sick call, emergency medical care, physical examinations, immunizations, dental care, and medication through the pharmacy (over-the-counter medications are available through the commissary). Mammograms, MRIs, and CT scans are performed at facilities in the local community. Emergency medical care is available 24 hours a day.
Psychology Services: FCI Marianna offers intake screenings, crisis intervention, and individual and group counseling. Anger management and a Non-Residential Sex Offender Treatment Program (SOTP-NR) are also available. At the camp, the STAGES Program is available for inmates with serious mental illness and personality disorders.
Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP): FCI Marianna houses a Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP) for male inmates only. It also offers a Drug Education Course, the Non-Residential Drug Abuse Program (NR-DAP), Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), and Narcotics Anonymous (NA).
Education Services: FCI Marianna offers literacy, GED, and English-as-a-Second Language (ESL) programs. The GED classes are offered in English and Spanish. Adult Continuing Education (ACE) classes include parenting, Financial Management, Conversational Spanish, Health Education, Career Planning, Career Counseling, and Basic Study Skills. High school diplomas and post-secondary programs are available through paid correspondence programs.
Advanced Occupational Education: FCI Marianna offers advanced occupational education in K-9 training, Business Foundations, Electrical Helper and Refrigerant Certification. The camp offers K-9 training, Building Maintenance, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Lube Technician, Mechanic Technician, Safety Technician, Horticulture, Building and Trades Core, and Plumbing Helper.
Vocational Training: FCI Marianna does not offer any vocational programs aside from the advanced occupational education and apprenticeship programs.
Apprenticeship: FCI Marianna offers apprenticeships in HVAC, HVAC Helper, Electrician, and Plumbing.
Library Services: FCI Marianna houses both a leisure library and a law library for inmate use. The leisure library offers fiction and nonfiction books, newspapers, and magazines. The law library offers the TRULINCS Electronic Law Library, typewriters, and a copy machine.
UNICOR: The FCI Marianna UNICOR facility handles recycling activities and services.
Commissary: Inmates can spend up to $360.00 per month in the commissary on their designated weekly shopping day. Over-the-counter (OTC) medications, telephone credits, and postage stamps do not count against the monthly spending limit. Funds are retained by the institution in a trust fund account, from which the inmate may withdraw money for personal spending in the institution commissary, family support, or other approved purposes. Accumulated institutional earnings and monies sent from outside are given to the inmate upon release or may be mailed home.
Recreation Services: FCI Marianna offers both recreation yard and hobby craft areas where inmates can engage in a wide variety of leisure activities. In the recreation yard, inmates can play sports such as basketball, flag football, bocce ball, volleyball, soccer, and frisbee. In the hobby craft areas, inmates can paint, draw, and engage in any other number of hobby craft and artwork activities. The gym and leisure center is open during all operational hours. Changes in the hours of operation are posted on inmate bulletin boards in the housing units.
