The Glades County Detention Center (ICE) is a medium-security detention center located at 1297 East SR 78 Moore Haven, FL which is operated locally by the Glades County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Glades County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Moore Haven Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.

he Glades County Detention Center is under the direct authority of Glades County Sheriff. The corrections operation is under the supervision of the Chief Deputy of Corrections and the correctional staff. The goal of the corrections division is to create a safe, secure and humane environment for both staff and inmates.
If you need information about a detainee that is housed at this facility, you may call (863) 946-0062 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. When you call, please have the individual’s biographical information ready, including first, last and hyphenated names, any aliases he or she may use, date of birth and country of birth.
Detainees cannot receive incoming calls. If you need to get in touch with a detainee to leave an urgent message, you must call (863) 946-0062 and leave the detainee’s full name, alien registration number and your name and telephone number where you can be reached. The detainee will be given your message.
Booking Process
Upon arrival at the Glades County jail each inmate completes property intake (monies deposited, clothing and miscellaneous items inventoried), medical screening and the booking process. A twenty-five dollar ($25)booking fee is charged at the time of intake for non-federal inmates. If the case against the inmate is dismissed or the subject is found not guilty the inmate must supply the Sheriff's Office the court documents and the booking fee will be returned to the inmate.
Individuals that have been arrested and do not bond out of jail appear before a judge within the first twenty-four (24) hours of arrest.The judge informs each arrestedperson of his/her charge (s) and the bond amount this first appearance can take place in thephysical presence of the judgeor via Poly Com (video court).
Inmates that have completed the intake process will be assigned to general population. The housing of each inmate is assigned in accordance with their particular charge classification (felony or misdemeanor).
Mail:
Inmates may send and receive letters as desired subject to limitations necessary to maintain order and security. Mail is delivered Monday thru Friday except on legal holidays. All mail except legal mail or other privileged mail is opened and inspected for contraband and money orders in the mail room. Legal and privileged mail will be opened in the presence of the inmate.
Only soft back books from reputable publishers that do not contain material in violation of the law or sexually explicit material will be accepted. Inmates may not receive packages except legal materials. Express mail requiring receipt will not be accepted. All mailings must be properly addressed in the following format or they will be returned.

Glades County Detention Center (ICE) – Friends and Family Visits
Mondays through Sundays according to Housing Units which are rotated every 5 days. Detainees are able to advise his or her family of the appropriate visitation time and day.
- 8 a.m. – 10 a.m.
- 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
- 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
To ensure adequate time to process visitors through security, all visitors must arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled visit time.
Visitors must present a valid verifiable government-issued identification card to enter the facility.
Visits shall not exceed 2 hours.

Minors who are visiting the facility must be accompanied by an adult guardian (18 years or older). Minors must not be left unaccompanied in the waiting room, visiting room or any other area.
Attorney Visits
Legal representatives of detainees are authorized to visit their clients during the following hours:
Daily, 7 a.m. – 10 p.m.
A list of pro bono (free) legal organizations will be posted in all detainee housing units and other appropriate areas. This list shall be updated quarterly. If a detainee wishes to see a representative or paralegal from that organization, it is the detainee’s responsibility to contact them for an appointment.
Consular Visits
Consular officials may meet with their detained nationals at any time. It is requested that prior arrangements be made with the ICE Deportation Officer to the extent possible, and that consular officials bring appropriate credentials when they come to the facility. Clergy Visits
Clergy may visit detainees at any time, but must make prior arrangements with the Chaplain’s Office at (863) 946-1600.
Visiting Restrictions
- All family or other social visits are non-contact.
- No firearms or weapons of any kind are permitted in the facility.
- If visitors are or appear to be intoxicated, visitation will not be allowed.
- All visitors are subject to search while in the facility.
- Visitors are not allowed to pass or attempt to pass any items to detainees.
- Visitors are not allowed to carry any items into the visitation area.
Search Procedures (prior to or during all visitations)
All individuals requesting admittance to the facility or the visitation area are subject to a pat-down search of their person, an inspection of their belongings, and a metal scan search. Individuals refusing to cooperate with a reasonable search will not be admitted. No firearms or weapons of any kind are permitted. No electronic devices (cell phones, pagers, radios, etc.) are permitted in the secure areas of this facility.

We do not allow contact visitation under any circumstances. Each visitor must be on the inmate’s visitation list or they will not be permitted. A valid government issued photo ID is required for visitation purposes.
Inmate Visitation
This facility has transitioned to expand inmate visitation availability by allowing the additional use of a new remote video visitation process provided by Telmate. This new visitation technology will allow for more visits at more times without the need to travel to the facility. It does not replace the current onsite visit process, but opens up the availability to visit from a remote site using the internet.

Onsite visiting hours are from 8:00am-10:00am, 12:00pm-4:00pm or 6:00-8:00pm seven days a week. The length of the visit will be limited to two (2) hours. The maximum number of visitors per inmate is four (4). Children under the age of 18 will be permitted with parents, or legal guardian. We do not allow physical contact visitation under any circumstances. Each visitor must be on the inmate’s visitation list or they will not be permitted. A valid government issued photo ID is required for visitation purposes
Remote: From Anywhere Over the Web
Remote (offsite) video visiting is available to friends, family, and others using a Web browser and is provided by Telmate. Video visits may be conducted from any computer with high-speed Internet, a webcam, microphone, & speakers. There is no limit to the number of remote visits, and are scheduled on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Remote Visits
Video visits are provided by Telmate and are available for $0.66/min in 30-minute blocks ($19.80). There is no limit on the number of visits or visitors using remote video visitation.
Scheduling Remote Visits
To schedule a remote visit with an inmate, go to www.gettingout.com or use the Telmate kiosk in the facility lobby. You will need to login (or register if you haven’t already) before scheduling a visit. Available visiting times may vary throughout the facility, depending on classification and housing unit. Inmates are responsible for communicating their allowed visit times to prospective visitors.
Inmates will not be permitted to visit during their lockdown time.

Rules
- All social visiting is subject to recording and monitoring.
- Inmate visitation is a privilege and may be denied for disciplinary reasons or operational necessity.
- No cell phones, cameras, food or drink are allowed in the visiting area.
- Any and all nudity, drug use, threatening language, gang symbols, or other behavior prohibited by the facility is prohibited during onsite or remote video visitation.
