The Gloucester County NJ Correctional Facility is a medium-security detention center located at 70 Hunter St Woodury, NJ which is operated locally by the Gloucester County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Gloucester County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Woodury Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.
All Gloucester County arrestees will be transported and admitted into the Salem County Jail.
Once processed and classified, they may be transferred to be housed in another facility.
The primary function of this unit is to make sure every Gloucester County prisoner is legally incarcerated, is seen by a Judge and is legally discharged in a timely manner.
