The Grayson County KY Main Detention is a medium-security detention center located at 320 Shaw Station Rd Leitchfield, KY which is operated locally by the Grayson County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Grayson County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Leitchfield Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.

Grayson County through cooperation with the various agencies and organizations that address the root causes of crime in our community, and hope to make a real and lasting impact on the quality of life in the County. Through revolutionary programs dealing with substance abuse and criminal addictive behavior, partnerships with local churches and tried-and-true educational programs such as GED and WorkKeys, they are working to give inmates a better chance to succeed when they are released.

Partnerships with agencies like the United States Marshals Service, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the United States Bureau of Prisons and the Kentucky Department of Corrections allow the Detention Center to bring much-needed jobs to our community at no cost to the local taxpayer.
