The Harrison County MO Jail is a medium-security detention center located at 1501 Central St
PO Box 169 Bethany, MO which is operated locally by the Harrison County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Harrison County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Bethany Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.
The Harrison County Jail was built in 2004 and holds 42 inmates. Harrison County also houses inmates for other counties. The jail is located in the basement of the sheriff' office. The building also houses the Bethany Police Department and the Probation and Parole Office.

Inmate visiting hours are on Fridays from 1:00pm to 4:00pm
Inmates are allowed to have one visit per week and two people per visit. All visits are a max of 30 minutes per visit. Inmates are not allowed a contact visit.

Rules for Visiting
Persons must produce a picture I.D.
A parent or guardian must accompany persons under the age of 17. Proper conduct by all visitors and inmates is expected. Improper conduct, by either party, will result in termination of the visit.
Individuals who appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to visit.
The administration reserves the right to deny visitation by persons deemed to be improperly dressed or suspected of carrying contraband. Proper attire includes shoes, short (conservative length), pants, and shirts of conservative length. Females are also required to wear a brassier. Improper attire includes any clothing that is too revealing as deemed by the staff.
Commissary
Nothing may be brought in and left for inmates for security reasons. Inmates must purchase all items from the commissary. Through commissary they can email and have video visitation.
Money can be left on the inmates account by going to the office and using the kiosks machine in the lobby. The lobby is open 24 hours a day. You can also go to www.InmateCanteen.com to put money on the inmates account. Credit card transactions are limited to $150.00 per transaction with a total of $500.00 per 30 day period including service fees.
Mailing inmates
All incoming mail will be opened and screened prior to it being given to the inmate. Items received for inmates no longer in custody will be returned to sender, not forwarded.
