The Hudson County NJ Correctional Facility (ICE) is a medium-security detention center located at 30-35 Hackensack Ave Kearny, NJ which is operated locally by the Hudson County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Hudson County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Kearny Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.

Hudson County Corrections utilizes Direct Supervision Management. Direct Supervision, the principals of direct officer to inmate interface and barrier free design, has proven to be an effective method of control, improving supervision, reducing violence, ensuring a safer more humane environment for both inmates and staff.
If you need information about a detainee that is housed at this facility, you may call (201) 395-5600, ext 5084 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. When you call, please have the individual’s biographical information ready, including first, last and hyphenated names, any aliases he or she may use, date of birth and country of birth.
Detainees cannot receive incoming calls. If you need to get in touch with a detainee to leave an urgent message, you must call (212) 863-3401 and leave the detainee’s full name, alien registration number and your name and telephone number where you can be reached. The detainee will be given your message.

Visitors, inmates, and detainees are required to obey all instructions of department personnel as well as all relevant regulations of the Hudson County Correctional Center
- The Hudson County Correctional Facility is smoke-free. No cigarettes or smoking materials are allowed.
- Visitors have a responsibility to maintain control over their minor children. If a minor becomes disruptive and is not controlled by verbal instruction from the supervising parent, the visit will be terminated. The physical discipline of minors is not allowed on the premises of the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
- All visitors, including attorneys and official visitors, must be fully dressed in appropriate, conventional clothing which is not unduly provocative, suggestive or revealing.
- Visitors may not wear clothing that resembles inmate/detainee attire visitors may not wear adornments that could be used as weapons.
- Visitors may not wear clothing that displays gang signs, obscenities, drug or alcohol designs, controversial messages or profanity.
- Visitors may not be barefoot.
- Visitors may not wear any garment which unduly exposes the shoulders, chest, back, stomach, midriff or underarm.
- Visitors may not wear clothing made of sheer, transparent, net, mesh or any see-through material.
- Visitors may not wear clothing designed or intended to be tightly worn or excessively accentuate the body.
- Undergarments should not be visible.
- Visitors may not wear pajamas.
- Dresses, skirts, jumpers, culottes and shorts may not be worn if more than four inches above the kneecap when standing.
- Visitors shall not exchange any article or property with an inmate/detainee.
- No jewelry will be permitted during contact visit.

- Mondays: 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
- Tuesdays: 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
- Wednesdays: 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
- Thursdays: 10:30 am – 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
- Saturdays: Contact Visit Only: 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
To ensure adequate time to process visitors through security, all visitors must arrive 45 minutes prior to the scheduled visit time.
Visits shall not exceed 30 minutes.
Adult visitors must present a valid, verifiable government-issued identification card to enter the facility.
Minors who are visiting the facility must be accompanied by an adult guardian (18 years or older). Minors must not be left unaccompanied in the waiting room, visiting room or any other area.
