ID DOC – Correctional Alternative Placement Program (CAPP) basic information to help guide you through what you can do for your inmate while they are incarcerated. The facility's direct contact number: 208-336-9959
This facility is for adult inmates.
The inmates housed at Correctional Alternative-CAPP located at 15505 S Pleasant Valley Rd in Kuna, ID are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.
CAPP facility opened July 1, 2010 with Management Training Corporation (MTC), a private prison company, built the facility and operates the program. CAPP offers intensive treatment programs for substance abuse and cognitive issues for up to 438 low to moderate risk male inmates needing substance abuse treatment. It houses three different groups of inmates who are in violation of their probation or parolees and for retained jurisdiction. Inmates who are serving time at this facility include probationers who are in violation, parolees who violated parole, and what they call retained jurisdiction (those who have been sentenced to a prison term by the court).
