This facility is for adult inmates.

The inmates housed at South Idaho Correctional located at 13900 S Pleasant Valley Rd in Kuna, ID are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.

SICI houses 590 male inmates and 112 female Riders in the PRC. Most inmates are assigned a job and work inside or outside the facility. Vocational Work Projects include road crews for the Idaho Transportation Department and conservation and fire fighting crews for the U.S. Forest Service. Some inmates serve as workers in the Correctional Industries program. SICI also operates the pre-release program for the majority of inmates paroling from the system.

Visiting schedules are subject to change based on emergency situations.

Please read and be familiar with the Visiting Rules for Offenders and Visitors and complete the visiting application process before visiting the facility. 

Visiting will be four days a week. We will have the following visiting groups:

Group  1   =   PRC/North Dorm (C,D)     Visiting Center Capacity is 85

Group  2   =   Main Dorm                      Visiting Center Capacity is 85      

Group  3   =   North Dorm (A,B, E, F)     Visiting Center Capacity is 85

Group  4   =   MCU/East Dorm               Visiting Center Capacity is 85

• General visits will not occur on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday
• Special visits (as defined in policy) may be authorized by the Visiting Lieutenant or higher
• Visiting accommodations (extended visits, schedule problems, etc.) will be at the discretion of the visiting officers or Sergeant
• Administrative duties for visiting will occur on Saturdays and Sundays prior to the 9:00 a.m. visiting session

NOTE: VISITORS MUST BE ON TIME TO ENTER OR THEY WILL BE DENIED THEIR VISIT.

Contraband: Idaho code 18-5210 states that a person commits a crime by knowingly introducing or possessing contraband in a correctional facility. Contraband includes, but is not limited to tobacco, cell phone(s) or telecommunication equipment, controlled/illegal substances, firearms or dangerous weapons, ammunition/explosives and escape tools or devices. Violations are punishable by imprisonment of up to 5 years and/or fine of up to $10,000.

Note: The use of tobacco products on IDOC property is not allowed, to include parking areas. No tobacco can be brought into any facility. All tobacco products must be stored in a locked vehicle.
