The IL DOC – Dixon Special Treatment Center is a state prison located at 2600 N Brinton Ave in Dixon, IL in Lee County. This Reentry security prison is operated by the Illinois Department of Corrections to hold inmates who have been convicted to and sentenced for a crime in the state of Illinois.
The inmates housed at the institution are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. Illinois's mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.

Visits last no longer than 2 hours.
All visits must be pre-approved.
No visitor shall be admitted beginning one hour prior to the end of visiting hours.

Visitors to any correctional facility will be required to produce photo identification and verification of date of birth. Please be sure to bring 2 forms of identification with you; these would include a current photo ID such as a driver’s license, a state ID card, government ID card, military ID/driver’s license, or acceptable documentation of non-U.S. citizenship including a current Passport, or Visa, documentation must contain the visitor’s date of birth. Expired forms of identification will not be accepted. Visitors will also be required to provide vehicle information and other pertinent data, such as government identification, official credentials, attorney registration, and or law student certification.
Visits are limited to immediate family members ONLY. Immediate family members include mother, father grandparents, spouse, children and siblings, including step relations. Due to space, no more than 3 persons may visit at any one time.
