The inmates housed at Pendleton Correctional located at 4490 W Reformatory Rd in Pendleton, IN are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.

The Pendleton Correctional Facility is a level three maximum security adult male facility located in Pendleton, Indiana, on State Road 67 approximately 25 miles northeast of Indianapolis. The facility property consists of approximately 500 acres, 33 acres of which are located within the perimeter of a 30-foot wall. The facility also operates a minimum-security dormitory located adjacent to the main facility.
The Indiana Department of Correction offers a wide selection of programming, courses, and activities based on both facility and offender need, as well as available resources. Listed below are a number of current programming opportunities available at the facility. While some are led by staff, many are volunteer-driven. Pendleton Correctional Facility is located in Madison County Indiana. It is a maximum security prison that can house approximately 1,800 adult males. Surrounded by 500 acres, and a 30 foot security wall that covers the 33 acres of buildings and yards the maximum security institution ensures the offenders stay incarcerated. The prison also operates a minimum security unit that is placed outside the main facility. The minimum unit offers logistical support to the maximum institution.
Depending on the security needs of the inmate they may be held in isolated cells, shared cells, or a dormitory setting. Offenders can participate in educational courses that teach them to read and allow them to earn a GED. Inmates can receive substance abuse treatment, parenting classes, stress and anger management courses, and can even learn vocational skills in auto body repair and printing. The department of labor offers a program for inmates incarcerated at Pendleton Correctional Facility allowing them to obtain jobs in housekeeping, recycling maintenance, and for Aramark.

Tuesday 6:30 pm-8:30 pm (2hour visit) and Saturday 7:30am-10am (2 hour visits) 12:30-3pm (1 hour visits)
Dorm 2
Thursday 6:30pm-8:30 pm (2 hour visit) and Sunday 7:30am-10am (2 hour visits) 12:30-3pm (1 hour visits)
For security purposes, effective December 1, 2018 visitors will only be allowed to bring in the following items when entering the Pendleton Correctional Facility Administration Building or Outside Dormitory to visit:
Identification
Money (not to exceed $30.00 per person)
Car keys
Visitors with infants and toddlers:
2 bottles with milk, formula or juice
3 diapers
1 package of wet wipes
During inclement weather, visits may wear a coat/jacket, gloves, and hats
Those visitors who enter the Administration Building with items not listed above will be asked to return the items to their vehicle. Non-compliance with this order will result in the visitor being denied access to visit.

- Offender Visitation List Additions Policy
- Offenders with their last name beginning with the letters “A” through “M” will be allowed to change their visitation lists October 1st through March 31st.
- Offenders with their last name beginning with the letters “N” through “Z” will be allowed to change their visitation lists April 1st through September 30th.
