The Jefferson County MS Correctional Facility is a medium-security detention center located at PO Box 145
1483 Main St Fayette, MS which is operated locally by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Jefferson County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Fayette Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.

The mission of the Jefferson/Franklin County Regional Correctional Facility is to provide a cost effective high degree of security for the citizens of this county and safety for both inmates and staff of the facility. It also recognizes that incarceration is in itself punishment. All inmates shall be held accountable for their actions and shall leave the correctional center no worse physically, emotionally or physiologically than when they were incarcerated.

A positive atmosphere shall be created for both inmates and staff in accordance with County and State guidelines governing the facility and in addition to ACA policy. We shall provide a safe and secure environment for inmates, provide necessary training for correctional personnel and create a variety of programs, which provides inmates an opportunity to prepare themselves for introduction back into society. Incentives will be given to inmates based upon their behavior.

Jefferson/Franklin County Regional Correctional Facility has an assortment of programs to reach these goals such as GED and Adult Basic Education and Literacy classes. In addition, we have a complete substance abuse rehabilitation program to help achieve these rehabilitation goals.
