The Jefferson County PA Jail is a medium-security detention center located at 578 Service Cntr Rd Brookville, PA which is operated locally by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Jefferson County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Brookville Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.

Upon entering the building an inmate is permitted to possess five white t-shirts, five pair of white socks, and five sets of underwear. Once an inmate has entered the building, no other personal items are permitted to be brought into the facility. Addition personal items are available to be purchased through the jail’s commissary system.

Weekender Fees – The court system has ordered a fee to be paid by the inmate if they are serving a sentence that allows for incarceration times of less than six days at a time. The fees are accessed according to the inmate’s weekly income. The inmate will be required to provide the jail with copies of their last three paystubs so that this fee can be calculated.

Medical Needs – The county has contracted with a medical provider to meet the needs of all inmates. Should an individual become incarcerated, the provider will contact outside healthcare providers and/or pharmacies to document past medical needs. Small co-pays are required for inmate treatment while incarcerated.

BailBond – Bail cannot be paid at the jail. Family or friends would need to contact the committing party (district judge, the presiding judge, prothonotary’s office) to arrange for bail.
