The inmates housed at Lansing Correctional located at 301 E Kansas St in Lansing, KS are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.
Lansing Correctional Facility is the largest and oldest prison in the state with the ability to house over 2,445 adult male inmates. The prison itself is comprised of a Central Unit which houses maximum and medium-security inmates, and the East Unit which houses minimum-security offenders. Inmates housed at this prison can receive sex offender and substance abuse treatment. Offenders also have education programs available to them and are encouraged to earn their GED while incarcerated. Inmates are also encouraged to take vocational training which teaches them a new skill they can use for employment once they are released.
Lansing Correctional Facility (LCF) is the state’s largest and oldest correctional complex for adult male inmates. At the close of 2013, LCF had a capacity of 2,405. he complex consists of the Central Unit, which includes an 11-acre maximum-security facility, and a 46-acre medium-security facility, and the East Unit which is an 85-acre minimum-security facility.
LCF also houses one of two centers for the KDOC’s transportation system that provides for the movement of inmates among the state's correctional facilities.

MAXIMUM GENERAL POPULATION:
Rotate days (Saturday and Sunday) based on living unit. A1,B1,D,TRU,PC Units will visit on Saturday. A2,B2,C2,PC will visit on Sunday. These units will alternate each weekend and rotate on holidays. Non-Contact status will visit on day unit is assigned.
NOTE: No visits will be processed after 11 a.m. for morning visits or 2:00 p.m. for afternoon visits. Any visitor who visits any hour in the morning will have it count as the inmate's half-day visit. For example, a visitor who arrives at 11 a.m. may not extend to the afternoon on the day that the inmate has half-day visiting privileges.
Minimum Visiting has visitation either Saturday and/or Sunday – 7:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m
