The Levy County Jail is a medium-security detention center located at 9150 NE 80th Ave Bronson, FL which is operated locally by the Levy County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Levy County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Bronson Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.
The Detention Bureau is a non-smoking county jail with a maximum capacity of 304 inmates. Inmates are not allowed access to televisions or newspapers. The LCSO employees qualified and licensed medical staff and the medical facility is in operation ten (10) hours a day seven (7) days a week. We contract monthly with an outside medical facility for physician services.
Inmate Programs: Various programs are available throughout the week to inmates incarcerated at the Levy County Detention Bureau. These programs include Religious Services, Alcoholics Anonymous, Anger Management and Life Skills Classes, which include topics such as parenting, health and nutrition, and workplace readiness.

Visitation Rules
- Any contraband items must be left in the visitor's vehicle, not the visitation waiting area
- Any items other than these are considered contraband and not allowed in visitation: nitroglycerine, inhalers, keys, and identification
- Visitors are subject to a pat search or metal detector-screening prior to visiting and departing the facility
- Visitors must show a valid form of picture ID with the date of birth and address on it. The only forms accepted are state-issued driver's license; state-issued ID card, or military ID card. NO OTHER FORM OF ID WILL BE ACCEPTED
- Visitors that are suspected to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs or have an odor of alcohol about them will not be allowed to visit
- A maximum of two (2) visitors will be allowed entry to visit an inmate
- No persons under the age of sixteen (16) will be allowed to visit. Anyone under the age of eighteen (18) is required to show ID with proof of age accompanied by a parent or guardian
- Children will no be left unattended outside visitation OR on the premises. Doing so will result in the visitation being terminated
- Visitors are only allowed to visit one inmate per day. Only one visit per day allowed per inmate.
- Each visit will be for a maximum of one (1) hour. If you leave prior to the end of sixty (60) minutes, that will be counted as a complete visit.
- Profanity, abusive language or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Any of these will be grounds for the visit being PERMANENTLY terminated.
- No property or money of any kind will be left for an inmate at the visitation
- Anyone not on an inmate's visitation list will not be allowed to visit.
- Anyone that is ordered by the courts to not have contact with an inmate will not be allowed to visit
- If you have been incarcerated at the Levy County Jail within the last six (6) months, you will not be allowed to visit.
Dress Code
- No shorts or skirts above knee-length permitted
- Shirts must have sleeves and cover the entire upper torso
- No hats, caps, or "do-rags".
- No tank-tops, strapped shirts, tube tops or halter tops
- Shoes must be worn
- Any clothing with profane, vulgar, or illegal pictures or language is not allowed
- No see-through clothing allowed
