Steppin to a New Beat
"STEPPIN TO A NEW BEAT" is a Re-Entry Program designed to be a community partner that provides services for individuals with barriers such as employment, conflict resolutions, criminal thinking, housing, etc. "Stepping To A New Beat" is designed to identify and link Child Support participants and other offenders with services specific to their needs. This is accomplished through the Child Support Enforcement Court, families, education, training, and recovery communities. Our goal is to equip the participant with the necessary tools and assist with eliminating barriers to live a successful and independent lifestyle. The programs expectation is that he/she will become a productive member of society as well as a tax-paying citizen.
"Steppin To A New Beat" is dedicated to the purpose of guiding the released man or woman into the process of transitioning back into the community. The program goal is also designed to keep participants from becoming a potential inmate. Studies show that without a plan of action over two-thirds of released prisoners will be rearrested for a felony or serious misdemeanor within three years of release at a great cost to the taxpayer. This is a costly reality socially, spiritually, culturally, and financially. Significant details are important at the moment of release, proof of identification, housing, treatment, transportation, jobs and family reunification immediately upon release help ease the transition from prison/jails to the community.
