This facility is for adult inmates.
The inmates housed at Farmington Correctional Center located at 1012 W Columbia St in Farmington, MO are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.
FCC is a minimum/medium custody correctional state facility that has the capacity to house 2,655 adult male inmates. Farmington Correctional operates a 354-bed substance abuse treatment center. Inmates can participate in educational studies to earn a GED and adult basic education. Furthermore, inmates can take vocational classes to learn a new skill they can later use in employment. This facility also runs a Sex Offender Assessment Unit Process (SOAP)and the Missouri Sex Offender Program (MOSOP), which is a mandatory twelve months therapy program for all sex offenders.
