The inmates housed at Moberly Correctional located at 5201 S Morley St in Moberly, MO are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.

Moberly Correctional Center is a minimum and medium custody state prison's current capacity is 1,800 adult male inmates. Inmates here can participate in Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous programs. Inmates with a high school diploma can apply to work in maintenance, laundry, a metal plant, sign, and print shop. During an inmate's incarceration, they are encouraged to take educational and vocational courses. Academic programs at Moberly include an adult basic education and the ability to earn a GED. Vocational classes taught at this prison include welding and painting.
