Potosi Correctional Center is a mixed custody state prison facility that incarcerates about 903 adult male inmates minimum, medium and maximum-security. The Center is responsible for receiving and housing inmates who have been given the death penalty. Potosi offers a 46-bed Special Needs Unit (SNU) for inmates with mental illness or who are developmentally disabled. Inmates here can take vocational courses to acquire new employment skills and can earn a GED and adult basic education during their incarceration.
