MO DOC – Southeast Correctional Center (SECC) basic information to help guide you through what you can do for your inmate while they are incarcerated. The facility's direct contact number: 573-683-4409
This facility is for adult inmates.
The inmates housed at SE Correctional Center located at 300 E Pedro Simmons Dr in Charleston, MO are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.
Southeast Correctional Center is a mixed custody state prison facility that houses minimum, medium and maximum-security inmates. The current capacity of this prison is 1,656 adult male inmates. Selected inmates may work jobs within the prison, including janitorial maintenance, laundry, and food preparation. Eligible inmates here may participate in quarterly food visits that allow you to bring takeout or a home-cooked meal to visitation, contact the inmate or the facility for more details. An outside visitation area is also available during the summer months.
