NCDPS – Lincoln Correctional Center basic information to help guide you through what you can do for your inmate while they are incarcerated. The facility's direct contact number: 704-735-0485

This facility is for adult inmates.

The inmates housed at Lincoln CC located at 464 Roper Dr in Lincolnton, NC are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.

Lincoln Correctional Center is a minimum-security prison for adult male inmates.

Built in 1939, Lincoln was one of 61 field unit prisons renovated or built during the late 1930s to house inmates who worked building roads.

The prison's original dormitory is still in use today. The General Assembly provided a dormitory as part of the $10 million South Piedmont Consent Decree construction program in 1985. Work was completed in 1987 on the dormitory, a multipurpose building, recreation building and a Correction Enterprise shirt plant. In June 1987, the building was converted to a medium security prison for adult males. It also operates an Ink Printer Cartridge Inmate Program.

Lincoln supplies inmates for five Department of Transportation road squads working in Catawba, Lincoln, Gaston, Cleveland and Mecklenburg counties.
