This facility is for adult inmates.
The inmates housed at Work Ethic Camp located at 2309 N Hwy 83 in McCook, NE are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.
The WEC is a transitional facility that prepares up to 200 Minimum B custody and Intensive Supervision Probation adult male inmates who are preparing to be released onto probation, parole, or community custody. Inmates here participate in a program in partnership with the Probation and Parole Administrations that lasts no longer than 180 days and addresses an individual inmates personal rehabilitation needs.
Inmates here are offered programs similar to larger correctional facilities, including educational programs to earn a GED and adult basic education. Parenting courses, vocational classes, anger management, victim impact, and work assignments are just some of the programs offered to inmates at the WEC.
Special programs also available to those offenders/inmates who have earned such privileges include the Rewards and Trust programs. These programs must be earned through positive behavior and program progress and participation. Those participating in the vocational program must also exhibit these same behaviors.

Visitation is allowed for approved visitors.
Visitors may only visit on one visiting day each week. They may attend both sessions on that day.
