This facility is for adult inmates.

The inmates housed at Bayside State Prison located at 4293 Route 47 in Leesburg, NJ are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.

Bayside State Prison is situated on approximately 1,148 acres of woods and farmland in rural South Jersey, approximately 17 miles south of Vineland/Millville. The prison complex consists of three operational units, which includes a satellite unit at Ancora. A full range of employment opportunities exists for the inmates. Educational and vocational training, medical and dental care, psychiatric, psychological, and social services are available and offer a variety of rehabilitation programs.
Bayside State Prison is located in Leesburg New Jersey, part of Cumberland County. Bayside Prison was formerly called Leesburg State Prison, until it was renamed in 1988. This facility is comprised of three units, the Farm, the Medium facility, and Ancora. Inmates incarcerated here can receive medical, psychiatric, and dental treatment, in addition to vocational and educational classes. The current population of this facility is over 2,210 adult males.

NJ DOC – Bayside State Prison – Visitation

1.    A maximum of 4 adults is permitted to visit. An adult visitor must accompany children. The definition of relative, as it relates to visiting children, is limited to mother, father, husband, wife, child, brother or sister of the child. Children must be under the control of the adult accompanying them at all times. Children are not permitted to play/run in the Front house or the Visit Hall. Adult visitors with children that cannot be made to comply with the rules of the Visit Hall will be required to depart. This rule ensures that ALL visitors are afforded an equal opportunity to visit in a pleasant environment. Children under court-appointed care of an individual other than a relative, as stated above, may be allowed to enter the facility to visit providing proof of custody has been noted on the inmates Visit Card. This can be accomplished by the adult having custody bringing the Court Order with them and presenting it to the Registration Officer for notation on the Visit Card.
2.    Visitors must present photo identification. Acceptable forms of photo identification include:
A.    A current photo driver's license
B.    A current photo Welfare/Medicaid card
C.    An employment photo ID
D.    A current passport
3.    NJ DOC facilities will no longer be accepting money orders. All money orders must be sent to JPay. Money orders will be processed within approximately two business days from the date the money order was received. 
4.    In accordance with NJAC 10A:18 6.14, all visitors, their belongings, and their vehicles are subject to searches while on the premises.
