This facility is for adult inmates.

The inmates housed at NJ DOC – Mid-State Correctional Facility (MCF) located at 8401 Range Rd in Wrightstown, NJ are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.

Mid-State Correctional Facility is located at Fort Dix Army Base on 12 plus acres of State of New Jersey property housing about 700 adult male inmates, most are sex offenders. All Mid-State inmates are assigned to work details and have the opportunity to participate in various programs. Selected inmates who are assigned full minimum status are permitted to perform special work details on Fort Dix ranges.

The facility, which had been closed since June 2014, reopened in April 2017. Mid-State is the first licensed, clinically driven drug treatment program provided by the NJDOC.

Visiting Hours

Saturdays and Sundays in two sessions.

A morning session from 9am-10:30am (registration is between 7:45am-8:45am)
An afternoon session from 1:30pm-3pm (registration is between 12:15pm-1:15pm).

The maximum number of visitors is four.
