NYSDOC – Eastern New York Correctional Facility basic information to help guide you through what you can do for your inmate while they are incarcerated. The facility's direct contact number: 845-647-7400
This facility is for adult inmates.
The inmates housed at Eastern NY Correctional Facility located at 30 Institution Rd in Napanoch, NY are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.
Eastern New York Correctional Facility is a maximum security correctional facility that houses adult males, located in the town of Napanoch in Ulster County, New York and can house about 1,000 state inmates. This prison also participates in the Correctional Industries which allows inmates to work in an on-site mattress manufacturing shop, a metal shop, and a sign/silkscreen shop.
While incarcerated at Eastern CF offenders are encouraged to take programming courses to learn a new skill they can use upon release. Vocational courses taught at this prison include building maintenance, culinary arts, masonry, welding, painting, and Braille transcription. Alcohol and substance abuse treatment programs are available and in some cases court-ordered.
A youth assistance program allows inmates to give positive guidance to at-risk youths from the surrounding region in an attempt to divert their bad behavior.
