NYSDOC – Rochester Correctional Facility basic information to help guide you through what you can do for your inmate while they are incarcerated. The facility's direct contact number: 585-454-2280

This facility is for adult inmates.

The inmates housed at Rochester Correctional Facility located at 470 Ford St in Rochester, NY are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.

Rochester Correctional Facility is located in Monroe County New York. It is a minimum custody facility that houses male offenders who are preparing to be released. This is prison is considered to be the best, of all the NYSDOC facilities, to be incarcerated in, if you have to be in state prison.

Comprehensive Alcohol and Substance use Treatment (CASAT)

CASAT and into work release is “the express route” through the NYS system for “the very lucky very few” who are lucky enough to get put on that ultra-fast track. One problem with it is that it’s so short and over so fast that it sometimes doesn’t make the needed impression on the involved person, they don’t get quite fully straightened out and they end up making a mistake and coming back for another, full-length trip through the system.
