OK DOC – Dr. Eddie Warrior Correctional Center (EWCC) basic information to help guide you through what you can do for your inmate while they are incarcerated. The facility's direct contact number: 918-683-8365
This facility is for adult inmates.
The inmates housed at Warrior Correctional Center located at 400 Oak St in Taft, OK are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.
Dr. Eddie Warrior Correctional Center (EWCC) is a minimum security state prison that houses up to 941 female offenders run by the Oklahoma Department of Corrections in Taft OK. EWCC is comprised of two general population units and a Regimented Treatment Program Unit. The Regimented Treatment Program is an intensive military-style treatment program that lasts 6-12 months and uses a highly structured environment and therapeutic community to change an offenders behavior.
Warrior Correctional Center offers inmates adult basic education, GED courses, and even college classes. Also, inmates can take vocational training to learn a variety of skills. The Jacobs Trading Company provides a prison industry operation that puts inmates to work repackaging returned and damaged items to be sold again in discount stores. Only a small number of inmates are allowed to work in the Jacobs Trading Company and are paid minimum wage.
The EWCC is located on the original site of the Indian Mission School Haloche Industrial Institute in Taft. In 1909, the site became the Deaf, Blind and Orphan Institute, serving children under a variety of other names. In 1986, the Oklahoma Department of Corrections took possession of the site and opened it as a prison in 1989.
Programs
Education – Many inmates lack education, a key component in avoiding re-incarceration. EWCC offers literacy courses as well as Pre-High School Equivalency and High School Equivalency diplomas. College courses (not provided through state funding) are also available to inmates who can pay for them, or those who have alternative funding or scholarships.
Substance Abuse Treatment – For those inmates who need substance abuse treatment, EWCC teaches them ways to avoid drug and alcohol use, while also helping them develop cognitive, social, emotional, and coping skills needed to avoid using.
Criminal Thinking – EWCC offers Thinking for a Change, and Associates 4 Success programs to address thinking, judgment errors, and relationships linked with criminal thinking/behavior.
CareerTech – EWCC inmates can get technical training through a CareerTech Skills Center, which trains them for workforce entry after release. CareerTech also helps inmates find skill-related employment after release. Courses at EWCC include Career Readiness, and Transportation Distribution and Logistics for Manufacturing.
Specialized Units – EWCC’s Regimented Treatment Program combines physical training with 6 cognitive behavioral treatment programs. Inmates learn self-discipline and must show initiative, motivation, and improved behavior to graduate.

Eddie Warrior Correctional Center – Visitation
Visitation Hours
Regular visiting hours
Saturday: 8:15A.M. – 2:45P.M.
Sunday: 8:15A.M. – 2:45P.M.
All state recognized holidays.
Visitation hours vary by each facility, but an inmate's security level dictates how many hours he or she may visit with approved visitors.
EWCC is a minimum-security facility, and its inmates may receive up to eight hours per week, excluding holidays.
State-recognized holidays that fall on Monday through Friday are "free" visiting days. That means that, while an inmates' allowable number of hours for visiting still corresponds with their security level, holiday visitation will not count toward their total number of allowed visitation hours.
If the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, visitation hours count on total visiting privilege level hours.
Special/Extended Visits are allowed for persons who travel long distances, volunteers or team members identified by staff that has partnered with DOC in reentry services, attorney/clergy, etc. The length and conditions of all special visits will be determined by the Warden. Special visits for ministers/religious leaders must be scheduled in advance through the Warden. Requests for special visits must be made by the offender using the appropriate request form and must be submitted by the offender to unit staff at least 2 weeks in advance so that verifications can be made. (Exceptions to time frames may be considered in an emergency situation.)
