OK DOC – Jess Dunn Correctional Center basic information to help guide you through what you can do for your inmate while they are incarcerated. The facility's direct contact number: 918-682-7841

This facility is for adult inmates.

The inmates housed at Dunn Correctional located at 601 S 124th St W in Taft, OK are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.

Jess Dunn Correctional Center (JDCC) is is a minimum security state prison located in Taft OK that houses approximately 1,129 male inmates run by the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. Inmates are housed in one of five dormitories, or in a segregated housing unit that can hold 42 offenders. About 10% of the inmates at this facility are incarcerated for lewd/indecent acts on a child, which is why the department of corrections has a sex offender treatment program for inmates. The majority of inmates at JDCC are incarcerated for violent offenses.

Jess Dunn Correctional Center participates in the Oklahoma Correctional Industries program allowing inmates to work in a farm operation. The prison also has programs to teach vocational skills in plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry to offenders. Additionally, when inmates complete the Careertech program and are discharged from the prison they are offered employment assistance. Religious worship services are offered to all inmates through the Chaplains office. Offenders at Jess Dunn Correctional Center can also receive substance abuse treatment and mental health services.
